2007 Triathlon Season for the Priem Family

We still love the sport, but work and family have been taking priority.  Results are a bit short of our standards from a few years back.
Yet we're still proud to say we did it.  It's still an elite group that are willing and able to complete this test of endurance!

Not a bad start to the season.  Still fairly fit from MS150 season, improved Aero position on bike, and improved transitions with better shoes and no socks.

Fairly decent race for just getting over a cold.  Trouble breathing on the swim cost about a minute.  Fitness is still decent, and another good bike split (held off JP on the back stretch).

Tracey:  brought the Kids to Watch.

3rd of 9 Women 40-44  (33%)
132 of 204 Participants (64%)
No Splits, lost chip in the water.
Estimate based upon finisher a bit behind.
A tough race: rough road for riding, and faded in the heat on the run.

Cinco Ranch Triathlon:  September 30, 2007
500 meter swim, 19 mile Bike, 5k Run
Results on the Web.

Rich:  Total Time:  1:27:40.1
15th of 38 Male 50-54  (39%)

Swim: 10:11  28th
Bike: 49:21 (23.1 mph)  12th
Run: 25:39 (8:33/mile)  26th

Not bad. New date later in the season is cooler, which helped the run.  And longer bike course is helpful, but long swim still hurts.  First time to pass Tracey on the bike leg, since her start wave was just in front of mine.

Tracey:  Total Time:  1:33:44.9
6th of 34 Female 40-44  (18%)
285th of 618 Participants  (46%)
Swim: 9:21  9th
Bike: 55:44 (20.5 mph)  7th
Run: 26:42 (8:54/mile)  19th

Good race, despite finishing six minutes behind Rich.  Fitness is coming back, and had decent splits in all three disciplines.
